Meet the physiotherapy team

The team consists of the Physiotherapy manager, a team leader, five Physiotherapists, a Physiotherapy Assistant and Physiotherapy Receptionist. They are supported by an experienced team of bank staff with variety of specialties.

Cathy Greenwood Physiotherapy Manager BSc Hons, HPC registered, MCSP

 

Cathy arrived at Fulwood in 1999 and became Physiotherapy Manager at Fulwood in 2002. Prior to this she worked extensively in the NHS, worked for sport clubs and did some private practice. She was appointed Physiotherapy Service Manager for both sites in October 2005.

 

Her main interests are outpatient Orthopaedics especially Shoulders. She also has an interest in Chronic Chest conditions. Cathy has helped to grow an efficient outpatient clinic for chronic chest conditions, very soon to start Pulmonary Rehab Clinics at Fulwood and Euxton Hall Hospital and works closely with the Chest Physician at Fulwood. She has also initiated the setting up of a Functional Restoration Programme at Euxton.

Phil Digman Team Leader, HPC registered, MCSP

 

Philip joined our Physiotherapy Team as a senior physiotherapist and has successfully worked his way up to a Team leader role. He qualified as a Chartered Physiotherapist for the University of Bradford in 2001.

 

Phillip’s field of interest is in orthopaedic outpatients and sports injuries. Phillip spent 5 years working closely with the Preston North End Football Academy. His particular interests are rehabilitation of the shoulder and the lower limb. Phil has been crucial in developing our Functional Back Programme.

Emma Palmer Senior Physiotherapist BSc (Hons), HPC, registered, MCSP

 

Having joined our team from Burnley General Hospital, Emma holds a keen interest in orthopaedics. She now leads the inpatient service across Fulwood and Euxton. Emma’s involvement in developing our evidenced based protocols and audit material with support from Euxton Hall's consultants underpins our multi-disciplinary team approach. Emma also co ordinates our Hydrotherapy Service.

Ian Kirkpatrick Senior Physiotherapist BSc (Hons), HPC registered, MCSP

 

Ian graduated from Northumbria University in 2006 and began work with Hartlepool Football Club. He joined Euxton in 2007 and has further developed his interest in Sports Injuries via his work with Wigan Athletic Football Club. He is a keen footballer and Golfer and is able to relate this knowledge when rehabilitating patients with sporting injuries.

Suzie Crellin Senior Physiotherapist Bsc Hons HPC registered, MCSP

 

Suzie graduated from the University of Northumbria with an honours degree in Physiotherapy in 2006. She started work as a junior physiotherapist at Fulwood Hall Hospital. Suzie became a senior physio in 2008 and specialized in outpatients, currently working full-time in outpatient physio department in Fulwood and Euxton Hall Hospital. Suzie is leading the development of the Chest service and is also involved in setting up our Pulmonary Rehabilitation Programme.

Lee Thirlwall Senior Physiotherapist BSC Hons, HPC Registered, MCSP

Lee graduated from Northumbria University and has recently joined Euxton Hall. Since graduating Lee has travelled to Ghana where he gained experience in assisting the formation of new 'free' clinic and worked closely with Ghanaian premiership football teams. This lead to Lee carrying out his post-graduate rotations in South Wales, where he also gained further sports experience working with a welsh premiership rugby union team. Lee has a keen interest in physiotherapy of a musculoskeletal nature.
